Global international transport and freight experts Lubbers Logistics Group has reinforced its continued support of the Russell Anderson Foundation (RAF), after committing to a three year partnership with the Woodside Primary School Skills Hub, having previously supported the charity's summer camps.

Commenting on the initiative, Nick Latham, Lubber's Regional Director, UK and Nordic said. "Lubbers Logistics Group are delighted that we can support the Russel Anderson Foundation and the work they are contributing to in the local community with the development of the Skills Hub at Woodside Primary.

"We have committed to a long-term partnership with the foundation to ensure they can deliver the required support for the development and mentoring of the younger generation within the city of Aberdeen and we look forward to seeing the benefits of the Skills Hub and hearing first hand feedback from the families and children that will use it."

RAF Business Development & Fundraising Manager Louise Douglas added, "The Foundation are looking forward to working alongside Lubbers Logistics Group over the coming years, as we announce their long term partnership with us to support the development of Woodside Primary Skills Hub.

"Lubbers understood the commitment we wanted to make to the school, and the children to grow their practical cooking and many other key life skills, so to have their backing and support will have such a profound impact on this particular programme.

"Their commitment to us and all involved is clear to see and I'm sure this will be the start of a very worthwhile partnership."

Formed in 2012, the Russell Anderson Foundation began by delivering free football sessions to children in some of the more socially deprived areas of the city. These days, what RAF does encompasses so much more than just football.

The whole ethos of the Foundation is to empower children to make good decisions and give them a chance to reach their potential. RAF works with over 2000 children on a weekly basis across its partner schools in the city and, although a large part of the work remains focused on health and well-being and being physically active, RAF also works with the schools in other areas to improve attainment levels and help with better outcomes for the pupils. This includes practical cooking lessons, food support, mentoring programmes, workplace visits and employability opportunities to name some of the programmes RAF is currently delivering.
