Frasers of Ellon has confirmed a relationship with the Russell Anderson Foundation which will see the Aberdeenshire organisation appoint RAF as its Charity of the Year.
Frasers Managing Director Colin McKay is excited at the prospect of working in tandem with the Foundation. βI met with Graeme and Russell from the Foundation to discuss what we think will be a mutually beneficial partnership. We, at
Frasers of Ellon, are delighted to be involved with what is a fast growing and hugely worthwhile charity. It will be exciting and rewarding to be involved with RAF going forward and we have a number of fundraising, sponsorship and volunteering ideas in mind.β
RAF Chief Executive Graeme Burnett added. βTo be partnering with such an iconic north-east brand as Frasers of Ellon is marvellous for the Foundation and I see the arrangement adding substantial value to the fantastic work RAF undertakes in the area.β
Formed in 2012, the Russell Anderson Foundation began by delivering free football sessions to children in some of the more socially deprived areas of the city. These days, what RAF does encompasses so much more than just football. The whole ethos of the Foundation is to empower children to make good decisions and give them a chance to reach their potential. RAF works with over 2000 children on a weekly basis across our 9 partner schools in the city and, although a large part of the work remains focused on health and well-being and being physically active, RAF also works with the schools in other areas to improve attainment levels and help with better outcomes for the pupils. This includes practical cooking lessons, food support, mentoring programmes, workplace visits and employability opportunities to name some of the programmes RAF is currently delivering.
